Fun Restaurant Marketing Tips
Some marketing ideas are just too good to pass up. Some, when you read these, will make you go, “Man, why didn’t I think of that?” Well, that’s what I’m here for — to be your marketing guide. Enjoy.
Spread the word on Facebook. Everyone eats. A lot of people go out to eat. And a really lot of people are on Facebook. So hit ’em where they live (online). Blogging regularly and spreading your articles/specials to your Facebook Business Page is an ideal way to get people to your website. Running Facebook ads targeting your local community can also be very effective. Do it. Try it. Experiment.
Offer a special on your social media channels. Reward your followers on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Don’t be afraid to create the special with a quick expiration date. Get that walk-in traffic on the same day, or even within the hour. Be sure to make the offer something that really gives back value and your customers will certainly return the favor through word-of-mouth to their friends.
Make paying the bill fun. Create cards to put in the checkbook, or make tent cards for the table asking your customers to take photos with their iPhones and post it on their favorite social community using your hashtag. e.g., #myfavfoodspot. Have them include your logo (on the card) to win a special drawing with the winner announced this Friday on your Facebook Business Page.
Invite local media influencers for a VIP night. Use an excuse such as your restaurant’s birthday or a menu change to invite the local media (include the bloggers!) to enjoy an evening on you. Group dining, cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres, or a wine tasting all make for a fun time to keep your restaurant on the tips of their tongues when they write their next restaurant review, food feature, or blog article.
