The Paratransit Advisory Committee was formed in 2002 and provides a communication link between the TDCHR, persons with disabilities who use or may use its services, and service providers to the disabled community on matters related to Paratransit service within HRT’s service area.

The Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads is HRT’s governing body. It consists of 13 members — one elected official and one citizen representative from each city served by Hampton Roads Transit, and the Chairman of the Department of Rail & Public Transportation (DRPT), or a designee. It meets every month at alternating locations between the Norfolk administrative offices, 509 E. 18th St., Norfolk, and 3400 Victoria Blvd., Hampton. Meetings begin at 1 p.m.
