There are no rules! That’s the rule of the day.
If you run across anyone in any of your communities, Facebook, Twitter, FriendFeed, Foursquare, wherever, that tell you that you’re doing it wrong, tell them to take a hike.
Social media and social communities are people-driven. Which means that social media is driven by emotion, by intelligence, and is very fluid. The stream of social chatter changes on a whim because people are people; and people dictate what works and what does not work.
Do what works for you in social media.
Do what works for your business in social media.
If your friends are happy, and your target audience for your business is getting the information they want, then you are doing it right! Who cares what your competition thinks.
