I was recently asked, “How do I keep my Facebook page from getting hijacked?” Well, that’s quite simple. At least, taking the proper steps for limiting the chance of it getting hacked is simple.
First, change your Facebook password.
Second, change your Facebook password again.
Third, change your Facebook password to something that’s not your kids’ or dog’s names.
Fourth, be diligent about changing your Facebook password regularly–at a minimum, once per quarter.
The next thing to do is to change your password to your email account. The hacker will need access to your email account in order to take over your Facebook page. So be diligent about changing your email password regularly also.
I know this sounds simple, but security on the Internet is common sense under normal circumstances. Keep changing that password. You can never do it enough.
