Esquites @ Lola’s Beach Cantina in Norfolk’s East Beach

I studied this photo for a while before deciding not to clean it up in post-editing.

I could have removed the strewn food from the foreground in the plate.

I could have lightened the TV screens in the upper-left background.

I could have softened the light reflections in the top-center background.

But I didn’t do any of those things.

I wanted this photo to tell its own story.

I wanted the hero (the roasted street corn) to speak to you in its as-is state.

I strived to inspire your imagination on what happens next and wonder why I stopped now to capture this moment.
