This weekend we were having issues with the wireless network at home. I think maybe the issue is the lack-of-strength reception from the airport card in the iBook but regardless we had a need to get the machine online while sitting at the dining room table.
Every Windows laptop I’ve had I’ve been able to tether my Pearl to it to use as a modem for the machine. But I hadn’t tried it with a Mac notebook.
Thanks to Dave, I had the iBook online via the Pearl inside of 4 minutes. No issues. No problems following his instructions. No performance malfunctions through T-mobile. The iBook is online now when I need it.
Thanks RIM. As if this needed to be said, I fell in love with you all over again. BlackBerry is the perfect user device for any smartphone person.

I think it’s a given to people that know me that I’m a Starbucks (hazel)nut. So I’ll use them as an example again in my brand ‘point of the day’.
What makes Starbucks‘ brand so powerful? Is it the decor at their socially inviting retail stores? Is it the commerce selections of their musical CDs or travel mugs? Is it the yummy taste of their Hazelnut Lattes? Is it the wireless Internet and the chic aura of having an off-site business meeting while sipping a $5 green tea?
Who is responsible for Starbucks‘ increased brand awareness over the past few years? Is it their marketing department for their brilliant ideas that come from brainstorming sessions that (I’m sure) occur daily at their beanery? Is it the cool crowd that gathers in hoards to shell out money for half the value of the products purchased?
These are all good questions that a valuable marketing firm understands and has answers that are inately wound in the fabric of their own culture.
