Ever wonder what Internet Marketing is or how it can help your business?

July 20th, 2009 Keith Parnell 25 comments

Advertising Age, JASEzone and JASE GroupHere’s a quick definition of Internet Marketing from the JASE website:

Internet marketing focuses on creating powerful content that will lead potential customers to your brand, product or service line through online methods like searching, referrals, and links from other web entities such as blogs, video and social communities.

If you are not investing in and actively participating in Internet Marketing, you are certainly missing an audience that is looking for you.

I talked a while back during the Coffee with the CEO series about aligning your business to attract Inbound Marketing traffic. See the video here. A quick overview of the video: social media fits into an inbound marketing campaign, inbound marketing fits into an internet marketing campaign, and internet marketing (along with traditional marketing) fits into an overall marketing plan.

Read that again if you didn’t understand. Internet Marketing can be, should be, and (if you talk to us) will be a vital aspect of solid sales leads generation for your sales staff.

Don’t miss out on Internet Marketing. Let’s talk.

Never Miss an Opportunity to Talk Your Wares

July 17th, 2009 Keith Parnell 1 comment

Never miss an opportunity while you’re out in the community to talk about what you do everyday. If you have the passion, if you love your work, if you live for the success of your current project, why wouldn’t you want to shout it from the mountain-top?

JASE logo book bagI just dropped our new (used) car off at the local station for a state inspection. While the car is being inspected, I’m here at Starbucks (photo below taken now) working. Back at the inspection station I had my JASE book bag hanging over one shoulder so I could bring the laptop. Right on cue, the station manager asked me about the JASE logo on my bag. Hooked. Good conversation ensued that couldn’t be bought with the best advertising dollars.

Marketing message: Never miss an opportunity, triggered by tactful advertising, to talk about your passion. Connections are connections. Networking is networking. And everyone has friends who have friends. Talk your wares every chance you get.

“Wares” definition:
Marketable skills: skills or talents offered as a service or a commodity.

Need embroidery or screen printing?

July 2nd, 2009 Keith Parnell 5 comments

John Manus at Adver-tees hooked us up this week with a good size embroidery project. We had polo shirts and book bags embroidered with our JASE logo branded on them.

John’s staff was very courteous, knowledgeable and timely on delivery. Adver-tees of Chesapeake (VA) comes highly recommended by us! Call John and tell him the JASE team sent you over there.

The Open Source Experiment is Over

June 17th, 2009 Keith Parnell 2 comments

OpenOffice.orgWe have run the course, given open source a fair shake and have come to the conclusion that we cannot resolve ourselves to an alternative solution. Microsoft Office wins.

We (JASE) made a very serious effort to migrate away from Microsoft Office to OpenOffice.org. We wanted it to work but open source didn’t take care of us in the end. Sad thing is, we love OpenOffice.org. What there is of it, that is.

What do I mean? WHERE’S THE EMAIL / SCHEDULING / TASK MANAGEMENT CLIENT? We can’t move to a solution that’s half a solution no matter how cheap (free!) it is.

We tried Gmail (yuck!). We tried Microsoft’s new Windows Live Mail (better than Gmail but not there yet). We tried Thunderbird. We tried Evolution. We tried several others. None come close to Outlook. Not even close on any level.

So there you have it. Microsoft Office wins by default for being a complete suite of tools for our daily needs.

Funny, that’s what we say about our organization- a full-service marketing and advertising agency. I guess we proved our credence is applicable in most any test case.

New Year’s Resolutions Review: Looking Good So Far

June 3rd, 2009 Keith Parnell No comments

New Year's Resolutions2009 has been a solid year so far for our organization. Business is on a steady increase and outperforming our sales goals.

Pondering the causes of this growth during a tough economy, I thought back to my professional goals I set for myself on January 1, 2009. Here they are.

  1. I will identify those in my network of influence (on me) that are negative and impress upon me a non-productive demeanor. I will totally eliminate them from my circle.
  2. I will attempt to increase the size and more importantly the quality of my network of business partners. I will work my hardest to learn from their experience and offer my participation where appropriate.
  3. I will schedule my days and weeks to be more fluid, yet more productive.
  4. I will attempt to face-to-face network more than I did in 2008.
  5. I will be more cognizant of my personal brand and achieve to sharpen its edges.
Hard Work Means Success

I can honestly say that I am well on the way towards accomplishing each resolution. And even better than that, I can attribute much of JASE’s success this year to the processes I’m living to achieve these goals. So for once in my life, I can say that I’m living up to my New Year’s Resolutions and they’ve not been a total waste of my time to establish them.

- Good thing I didn’t throw in the ‘lose 30 pounds this year’ resolution! - :)

What about you?

How are those resolutions going?
